Latest News

Finally, after technical difficulties (beyond me!), we are able to update our news page.

After a very wet Spring, we really welcomed the sunshine in May and June.

We were delighted last year to have Dippers nesting in the River Asker at the bottom of the garden, but sadly, this year they have not revisited us, however, the garden is blooming and the bees are doing well - so much so that we have been able to take an early crop of honey.

We came second again in the village scarecrow competition with our Wicker Man (the theme was 'the movies') and are now looking forward to the village fete on August 4th where we are planning to run a human fruit machine and also to the Bridport Hat Festival which is on September 1st.

Spring 2018

We have had difficulty with our news page for some time, but hopefully now operational again. Last year we were delighted to have a pair of Dippers in the river at the bottom of the garden, but despite best efforts, they have not revisited us this year.

We source food locally whenever possible and are pleased to offer eggs from our own chickens and honey from our own hives. Breakfast includes sausages and bacon from pigs reared in Uploders. Dippers has a 2012 Visit England Breakfast Award.

We are pleased to provide an evening meal by arrangement - menu to be discussed with you.

Please let us know if you have a special dietary requirement.

The Crown Inn in Uploders does excellent meals. You could also take a footpath walk to other good eating pubs. Taking the car you are within easy reach of Bridport town and West Bay, and the villages of Shipton Gorge and Burton Bradstock where fish caught locally is a speciality.
